QIT Ilmenite

QIT stands for Quebec Iron & Titanium,
it owns an ilmenitemine in northeastern Quebec;
the ore is shipped to Tracy where it is
processed to titanium dioxide slags, iron pigs,
steel billets and steel auto parts.

The analysis of our low-TiO2 sample is as such :

SiO2 10.54
Al2O3 6.70
Fe2O3 32.72
TiO2 25.69
CaO 2.06
MgO 3.76
FeO 12.7
Imputities 5.66
Total 100

A theorotical substitution of it is as
follows for 1% of the stuff :

Rutile .260
Fe2O3 .450
EPK .170
Dolomite .100
Silica .020
Total 1.000
